General Performance Index©
(GPI: General Performance Index): "It is an index that measures the performance that a tennis player has had in a given period of time." This index, not shown here, is used to make the "General Performance Ranking© or GPI Ranking© ".

The following tournaments, which corre-spond to those started in the month of July, have been included for the determination of the Top 30 of the General Performance Ranking©:

  • Wimbledon – Grand slam (grass).
  • Swedish Open – 125K Series (red clay).
  • Ladies Championships Lausanne –International (red clay).
  • Bucharest Open – International (red clay).
  • Baltic Ocean – International (red clay).
  • Palermo Ladies Open – International (red clay).
  • Mubadal Silicon Valley Classic –Premier 5 (hard, Deco-Turf).
  • Citi Open – International (hard, Solflex).
  • Liqui Moly Open Karlsruhe – 125KSeries (red clay).

The WTA Ranking of the players, which has been considered for this report, is on August 5th, 2019.
Regard the 213 players, whom participated in these nine tournaments and who com-pound the statistic sample that has been considered for the statistical calculations, only the 30 that have achieved the best per-formance in the mentioned tournaments are exposed.
We highlight, the podium conformed by Pa-tricia Maria Tig (ROU), Fiona Ferro (FRA) and Jil Teichmann (SUI) in positions 1, 2 and 3 of the GPI Ranking©, respectively. Other players highlighted in the TOP 10 of the GPI Ranking© are: Katarzyna Kawa (POL), Elena Rybakina (KAZ), Jasmine Paolini (ITA), Anastasija Sevastova (LAT), Paula Badosa (ESP), Laura Siegemund (GER) and Simona Halep (ROU). See table 1.

It can be seen that from the WTA Ranking’s Top 10 only appear, Simona Halep (4), Kiki Bertens (5), Elina Svitolina (7) and Serena Williams (10) in the Top 30 of the GPI Rank-ing© for the month of July (table 1).
In table 2, it can be seen that only 7 Top 30 of the WTA Ranking, mentioned above, are included in the Top 30 of the GPI Ranking©.
We see that the performance of the No. 1 of the WTA, Ashley Barty (AUS), has not been good in the tournaments that began in July. Barty, only reached the GPI Ranking© 61, because she only played 4 matches in the period under analysis, of which she won 3. In addition, Barty played only Wimbledon; in the other eight tournaments, mentioned in this report, she did not appear. On the other hand, Patricia Maria Tig (ROU), of WTA Ranking 140, won 11 of 13 played matches in the same period.
Remember that, for the calculation of the GPI Ranking©, all tournaments are equal, and the WTA Ranking is not considered. A Grand Slam match has the same importance as a 125K Series match, for statistical pur-poses. The GPI Ranking© is democratic.
Next, the tables with their respective perfor-mance rankings or GPI Ranking© are ex-posed as is usual, in each analyzed aspect of the 30 players that achieved the highest performances during the analysis period.
